At ICICOR Costa Rica, we are committed to promoting business management that maintains a balance between economic growth, environmental protection, and social well-being. Our Sustainability Policy (effective as of February 5, 2020) aims to formalize and put this commitment into practice, in order to strengthen business competitiveness and contribute to the development and quality of life of our employees, clients, suppliers, and Costa Rican society.

With the support of a committed management team responsible for ensuring the Policy and the Sustainability Plan are applied, ICICOR commits to undertaking the following actions:

1. Adopt a Responsible Management Model, applying criteria of social commitment, environmental awareness, sustainable purchasing, and the incorporation of sustainability criteria into the different company processes. In support of this Policy, ICICOR has its Sustainability Plan, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
2. Implement Efficient Energy Management, focused on energy efficiency and the use of innovative renewable energy sources, so that consumption is optimized and controlled across all our operations.
3. Promote Responsible Water Management, seeking to reduce, raise awareness, and better manage the use and consumption of water resources in our operations.
4. Implement Responsible Waste and Disposal Management, applying the principles of the 4RV (rethink consumption, reduce consumption, reuse products, recycle, recover value from waste materials), promoting the purchase of biodegradable goods and digitization to reduce paperwork.
5. Incorporate methods that allow us to measure and control our Environmental Footprint, through the calculation and control of the corporate carbon footprint, and of water and energy consumption per person.
6. Make efforts to raise awareness among our Human Talent, through the promotion of corporate volunteering, and implement actions to inform and encourage the rational use of resources.
7. Encourage Suppliers that are part of our value chain to join sustainable initiatives and incorporate sustainability criteria into our process for evaluating, selecting, and re-evaluating suppliers.
8. Support Community projects or activities that have a positive impact on the local environment or on the social development of the area of influence where the company operations are located.
9. Continuously seek initiatives that positively impact Climate Change, developing more tools such as the Risk Warning System for Climate Change Adaptation (SARACC), created by ICICOR for risk analysis and threat identification related to the effects of climate change, while also identifying adaptation measures. Additionally, ICICOR is committed to climate action by raising awareness about reducing CO2 emissions.
